also 'fixed' the touchpad by opening the laptop up and wiggling the cable. I just don't know. but things appear to be functional now, good.
the big problem with my wireless that prompted a (second) complete OS reinstall? I had wifi turned off. Go me.
the internet exists again! I have a ton of email to catch up on, haha…
